Alipour has been coach of Leutzsch for less than eight months. He has been unable to lead the club, which has been in crisis for a long time, into calmer waters.

Regional league soccer club Chemie Leipzig has parted ways with its head coach Adrian Alipour. The board made this decision following a meeting on Monday evening in which the team's sporting situation was analyzed in detail. Alipour, who took up his position as coach in April 2025 and still had a contract until summer 2027, was informed of his release in a personal meeting immediately after the decision.

Chemie are in 16th place after 17 games, three points off the drop zone. Christian Sobottka, who was already co-coach of Leutzsch from 2017 to 2023, will take over as interim coach until further notice.

"We would have loved to start a successful new chapter with him. However, we have come to the conclusion that we have to make this decision because we see our goal of staying in the league this season in considerable danger. We are convinced that our team needs a new impetus after the many setbacks," said sporting director Gregor Schoenecker.
