The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau will continue to play in the 1st Bundesliga next season. Coach Norman Rentsch's charges won their home game against HSG Bad Wildungen 34:26 (22:9) on Saturday and have thus managed to stay in the league on their own. Laila Ihlefeldt, Rita Lakatos (6 each), Simona Stojkovska (5) and Diana Magnusdottir (4) played the biggest part in the home side's success. Anika Hampel (7/5) and Norma Goldmann (5/2) scored the most goals for Bad Wildungen.
The hosts made sure the situation was clear early on. Zwickau pulled away from 6:3 (10th) to 12:4 (17th) and extended its lead to 13 goals by the break. After that, the team from Saxony did not get into trouble against the team that had already been relegated from the second division.
