The Bundesliga handball team BSV Sachsen Zwickau will hardly be able to avoid relegation. Coach Norman Rentsch's charges were unable to get past eighth-placed Frisch Auf Göppingen 29-29 (20-16) in front of their home crowd. The team is now without a win in four games and remains in penultimate place. Blanka Kajdon (8/3) scored the most goals for the hosts. Carmen Moser (7) scored best for Göppingen.
Zwickau dominated the first half and pulled away from 3:1 (4th) and 8:4 (12th) to 14:9 (20th). However, BSV lost the thread of the game after the break. The home side scored a total of six goals up to the 57th minute. Göppingen exploited this weak spell and went 28:26 ahead with three minutes remaining. Kajdon at least managed to equalize with one minute remaining.
