Erzgebirge Aue are still waiting for their first win of the season in the 3rd Football League. One week after the goalless draw against Hansa Rostock, the Saxons were beaten 0:1 (0:1) at second division relegated SSV Ulm. Max Scholze (44th minute) scored the only goal of the afternoon for the home side.
After a weak first half, Aue pressed for an equalizer after the break, but were too imprecise in their finishing. Julian Günther-Schmidt initially missed several opportunities to make it 1:1. In the seventh minute of stoppage time, Erik Weinhauer missed a hundred percent chance.
Aue with their third keeper
Aue had to play with their third keeper Louis Lord for long stretches. Regular goalkeeper Martin Männel was absent due to his son starting school. Max Uhlig started in his place, but limped off the pitch injured in the 26th minute.
In the previous season, coach Jens Härtel's team had already weakened away from home, picking up just five wins on the road.
