After two consecutive defeats in competitive matches, second division side 1. FC Kaiserslautern won their home match against Dynamo Dresden 3:1 (1:0). In an often disjointed match in front of 46,015 spectators at the Fritz Walter Stadium, the Palatinate were the superior team for the entire match and thus earned their eighth win of the season. As a result, coach Torsten Lieberknecht's side now have 26 points and remain in sight of the promotion places.
Finnish striker Naatan Skyttä put the hosts ahead with his eighth goal of the season in the 17th minute. FCK captain Marlon Ritter made it 2-0 after the restart (53') and Mika Haas scored FCK's third goal after 70 minutes following great work from the strong Skyttä.
The promoted team from Dresden only became dangerous in the final phase, but only managed to score the equalizer in the 76th minute with a remarkable long-range shot from Jakob Lemmer. With 13 points, Saxony remain bottom of the Bundesliga 2 table.
