Second division soccer team 1. FC Magdeburg won the first test in the training camp. They won 5:0 (1:0) against a B team from the South Korean runners-up FC Gangwon. Mohammed El Hankouri (45.+1), Alexander Ahl Holmström (52), Jason Ceka (59), Connor Krempicki (86) and Magnus Baars (90.+6) scored for FCM.
Magdeburg started without new signing Holmström and top striker Martijn Kaars (infection), but with Aleksa Marusic in the center of attack. FCM were superior for the most part, but the deserved opening goal only came in stoppage time of the first half when El Hankouri scored after an assist from Baris Atik.
After the break, Magdeburg made changes and, in addition to Holmström, Marcel Zajusch, Baars and Tarek Chahed from the U23s and U19s also came on. FCM were now even more superior, increasing their lead early on through Swedish new signing Holmström and Ceka, who also came on as a substitute. FCM will play two tests at the end of the camp on January 10: against league rivals Hannover 96 and Dynamo Kiev.
