Experience a Hollywood star up close: actress Sandra Hüller is planning to appear in Leipzig's Felsenkeller on Friday (November 21) - not for a movie role, however, but for children's texts. As announced by the Buchkinder-Verein in Leipzig, she would like to lend her voice to the association for the nationwide reading aloud day and present selected stories by young authors under the title "Kredenzien aller Art - untam Mikroskop".
According to the organizers, visitors can look forward to humorous, poetic and philosophical texts that the children write, illustrate, print and bind themselves. The evening is planned as a charity event: All proceeds will go towards the association's projects. "With this reading, we not only want to show and celebrate our work, but perhaps also expand the circle of people who are committed to art, education and social responsibility together with us," said the two managing directors Birgit Schulze Wehninck and Sven Riemer.
There is "such deep truth" in children's texts
Hüller has been supporting the association for years. She particularly appreciates the "combination of the wonderful thoughts of children and art. This can happen when children have all the freedom they need," she explains. There is "such a deep truth" in many of the texts and they show "how closely children observe the world around them". Education is central for the actress: "Without a comprehensive and loving education, no society can grow healthily."
Author and musician Julius Fischer will lead through the evening, with music provided by the trio RADA synergica.
Admission is at 7.00 pm, starting at 8.00 pm. Tickets cost 13 euros (reduced), 23 euros (standard) or 23 euros plus donation and are available via the Felsenkeller program.
