Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier conducted his official business from Delitzsch for three days and drew a positive balance. "I sensed the great energy with which things are being tackled here: with investments in infrastructure and quality of life," said Steinmeier according to a statement. The visit to the district of North Saxony is part of the "Local Time Germany" series, in which the head of state regularly travels to various regions to talk to citizens and get to know local developments.
According to Steinmeier, Delitzsch is also sending out signals in culture, science and business. In addition to the Saxony Theatre Academy, where actors and musical performers are trained, he highlighted the planned large-scale research center "Center for the Transformation of Chemistry", which is to be created as part of the structural change.
Delitzsch also stands for the cooperative idea like hardly any other town in Germany, explained the Federal President. A legal form has been preserved here "in which economic reason is combined with social and economic responsibility in a special way".
