Right-wing extremist party calls for demonstration at German-Czech border

In protest against the German government's asylum policy, people gathered on the German-Czech border in Schmilka, Saxony, on Saturday. The far-right party Free Saxons had called for the action. A police spokesman spoke at noon of about 150 participants. This number was an estimate, he said, adding that there was some fluctuation. The protest was registered until 17.00 clock.

According to the police, ten participants placed themselves once per hour for ten minutes on one of the two lanes at the border crossing. The border traffic had thus not been blocked, he had been guided past the demonstrators. One could speak at most of a symbolic blockade.
