Saxony's Economics Minister Dirk Panter has welcomed the federal government's tax relief for companies, but has called for further steps to be taken. "Smaller companies in particular, which have little equity capital, will hardly benefit from the measures agreed," explained the SPD politician. It is also unclear how the tax losses for the federal, state and local governments will be compensated. "I assume that the burden will be borne by the federal government, which has also decided on them."
The federal government wants to ensure that the economy invests more again with tax relief. To this end, the cabinet has approved a package worth billions with extended depreciation options for machinery and electric vehicles. According to the draft bill, the federal, state and local governments will lose revenue of almost 46 billion euros by 2029.
Panter particularly emphasized the tax benefits for electric cars^. "Any measure that is suitable for ending the slump in sales of e-car manufacturers is a good measure and thus also helps Saxony as an automotive location."
