The new ten-member board of the Green Youth is complete. At the federal congress of the party youth in Leipzig, the members first elected Jette Nietzard and Jakob Blasel as their new chairpersons. They then voted for Jonathan Morsch as treasurer and Annika Randzio as political director. Zeliha Durmus, Magdalena Hess, Katharina Müller, Luis Bobga, Moritz Frings and Tammo Westphal were elected as further board members.
The old Executive Board around Svenja Appuhn and Katharina Stolla announced at the end of September that they would not be standing again and would leave the party as a whole. The reason: too little left-wing profile in the Greens, too many compromises in the traffic light coalition. After the end of their term of office at this federal congress, they also wanted to leave the Green Youth and found a "new, decidedly left-wing youth association", it was said. The majority of the Green Youth criticized the actions and work of their old board on Friday evening.
