The Saxon SPD believes that the new federal coalition must move quickly to implement its plans. Some things are particularly important.

After the SPD members' decision to form a government with the CDU/CSU in the federal government, the Saxon state leadership is calling for the new coalition to start work quickly. "People expect a coalition of doing - not arguing. This is particularly crucial for eastern Germany and Saxony," explained co-state leader Henning Homann.

The planned special fund for infrastructure must be implemented quickly. The industrial electricity price must also be introduced as quickly as possible in order to keep the business location competitive, added co-chair Kathrin Michel. A higher minimum wage is also an important step towards greater wage equality between East and West.

The Social Democrats' party base has clearly approved the coalition agreement. 84.6 percent voted in favor of the agreement that was negotiated with the CDU and CSU. Just over half (56 percent) of the 358,000 SPD members took part in the vote.
