Exam season is beginning these days for students in the academic health professions. This applies to aspiring doctors as well as students in the fields of dentistry, pharmacy, and psychotherapy, and to those in training programs to become psychological psychotherapists and child and adolescent psychotherapists, according to the State Directorate of Saxony (LDS). This applies not only to final exams. Candidates may retake the exams twice, the announcement stated.
State Directorate Acts as Examining Authority
As the responsible examining authority, the LDS handles the entire administrative process for the exams, particularly their organization and administration. In individual cases, it appoints the chair of the examination committee and decides, among other things, on withdrawals from the exam and accommodations for candidates with disabilities. At the same time, it determines the exam results, issues certificates to those who pass, and notifies those who have failed.
