The Cossebaude reservoir pool will remain open to bathers for the next few years. The city of Dresden has announced that it has extended the lease agreement with Vattenfall Wasserkraft GmbH until 2030. Previously, the contract had only been valid for one year. In addition to the popular baths, the agreement also concerns the future of the Niederwartha pumped storage plant. The energy company had shut it down in 2024. Work is now underway on its subsequent use.
