The commuters among the working population in Saxony mainly work in the state's major cities. As the State Statistical Office announced on Wednesday, a total of around one million Saxons commute. Their workplaces are often located in Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz. However, the cities of Görlitz, Plauen and Schkeuditz also offered attractive jobs for people in the surrounding regions. According to the data, more than 80 percent of people in employment in Saxony never work from home. 979,161 people in employment live in the same city or municipality in which they work.
