A total of 177 passenger aircraft took off from Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports on the first weekend of the fall vacations. 54 at Dresden Airport and 123 at Leipzig/Halle Airport, according to Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG. This represents 19 additional departures compared to the previous year. In addition to sunny destinations in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Red Sea, German and European cities are also on the flight schedule.
The autumn vacations are one of the busiest times at the Central German airports, it said. Up to 236 departures per week are expected from Leipzig/Halle, while up to 113 departures per week are planned from Dresden Airport. According to Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, this is more than during the summer vacation. Destinations include Antalya (Turkey), Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife and Corfu as well as Vienna and Istanbul.
