In the border triangle in eastern Saxony, cyclists can ride through three countries in a short space of time. On Saturday, it was that time again for hundreds of cycling fans in the heat.

The border triangle of Saxony, Poland and the Czech Republic remains an attractive destination for cyclists: several hundred people from the districts of Görlitz and Bautzen in eastern Saxony and the bordering regions of both neighboring countries took part in the 21st star bike ride of the district of Görlitz. The event, entitled "Borderless through the border triangle", led to the picturesque Lake Olbersdorf.

The cyclists set off from various starting points in the morning to reach the common destination on different routes. A varied program for the whole family awaited the participants at Lake Olbersdorf. From music and dance to artistic and circus performances - the diverse range of activities was sure to delight young and old alike.

"The Sternradfahrt 2024 was well received after a year's break and in challenging temperatures. We are delighted with the positive response. The cross-border participation was particularly pleasing and shows how closely the regions are connected," explained Görlitz District Administrator Stephan Meyer (CDU), who also took to the bike himself with his family.
