Swan blocks intersection in Görlitz district for hours

A particularly stubborn swan caused a stir in Niesky in Upper Lusatia and kept the police busy for hours. According to the police, a driver reported a swan sitting in the middle of the road on Saturday evening - and was anything but cooperative.

The bird was reportedly behaving aggressively and kept returning to the road after being chased away for a short time. This was exactly what the police officers saw: over a period of around three hours, the swan appeared sporadically at the intersection, remained there for a few minutes at a time and then disappeared again.

No specific dangerous situations or damage had been reported by the end of the operation, it was said. It initially remained unclear why the swan chose the intersection as its location.
