A cat slips into a narrow crevice in Dresden and can no longer free itself. But rescue is near.

The fire department in Dresden was called out to an animal rescue operation. Children had heard loud meowing coming from a company premises and alerted adults.

On site, it turned out that a cat had slipped into a narrow gap between a large metal container and a 2.50-metre-high concrete wall, the fire department said.

The rescue on Thursday was difficult: The cat was only able to wriggle out when the container could be lifted slightly with a wheel loader that had been brought in especially for this purpose. The animal was apparently unharmed - it immediately took flight after being freed.
