In times of climate change, the color of hope is green: a visualization on the website of the citizens' initiative DresdenZero shows what Dresden's Altmarkt could look like in 2035. At the same time, the portal provides easy-to-understand information on which specific climate protection measures could play a role in the city in the future.
Vision of climate neutrality in the next ten years
"In the next ten years, climate protection measures will significantly change the appearance of Dresden and life in the city," said the initiative. In addition to technical and ecological measures, the focus will also be on the social and urban quality of life that a climate-friendly transformation will bring. The DresdenZero initiative aims to help Dresden become a climate-neutral city by 2035.
City planner Thomas Steinborn designed the vision image for DresdenZero: "I really enjoyed combining specialist knowledge, possible solutions and aesthetics in the vision of Dresden's Altmarkt. As an urban planner, I now face the challenge of combining architecture and landscape architecture with climate protection and climate adaptation on an almost daily basis."
