The Chemnitz University of Technology has a new chancellor. The 47-year-old Peter Bernshausen is responsible for the budget, heads the central university administration and is the superior of the administrative and technical staff, the university announced. He is also a member of the Rectorate.
The position had been temporarily filled for several years. Bernshausen is reportedly a qualified administrative expert and was head of the Budgeting and Controlling department at the University of Marburg. He was also a lecturer at the University of Police and Administration in Wiesbaden for several years.
