Free State wants to promote vocational schools

The Free State wants to use EU and state funds to make vocational schools fit for the future. Where the funding will go.

Some vocational schools in the district of Görlitz are to receive a total of several million euros to improve their educational provision. Around 7.5 million euros will be used to train bakers at the vocational school center in Görlitz, among other things, according to the Ministry of Culture. In addition, a milking robot is to be purchased in Löbau. The facilities in Weißwasser and Zittau will also receive funding.

District Administrator welcomes funding

"These investments will ensure that the vocational schools in the district of Görlitz meet the real requirements of our regional businesses," said a delighted Stephan Meyer (CDU), District Administrator of the district. Some of the money comes from European Union funds. Projects are also being funded in other regions of Saxony, including the district of North Saxony and the city of Chemnitz. The state also provides funding.
