A 65-year-old man was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a truck in the district of Leipzig. According to the Leipzig police department, the 25-year-old driver of the articulated lorry was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident in Seifertshain. A test revealed a breath alcohol level of 1.86 per mille.
On Saturday evening in Seifertshain, he drove the articulated truck into the oncoming lane on a right-hand bend and collided with the 65-year-old's truck, it was reported. The truck driver was taken to hospital. Two horses on the back of the truck were also injured. There was a full road closure at the scene of the accident for several hours.
