There have been considerable delays in cross-border Eurocity traffic between Prague, Dresden and Berlin. The reason was a damaged overhead line near Roudnice nad Labem in the Czech Republic, according to the state railroad Ceske drahy (CD). The elimination of the problem could take the whole morning, it said.
Delays and train cancellations
The Eurocity trains to and from Germany were rerouted between Prague and Usti nad Labem (Aussig an der Elbe) via a different route, resulting in delays of around 90 to 120 minutes. Other train connections, such as the regular express train line R15 from Prague via Usti nad Labem to Cheb (Eger), were completely canceled. A rail replacement service with buses was set up for regional services.
According to the information, a freight train had damaged the overhead line. Further details on the cause of the accident and the amount of damage were not initially available.
