During the summer break, a number of Erzgebirgsbahn trains will be canceled and replaced by buses. According to Deutsche Bahn, this is due to construction work as well as problems with the trains. Currently, there is an unusually high level of wear on the wheel sets. The exact cause is unclear and is being investigated, according to the statement.
According to the information provided, the affected lines are Chemnitz-Cranzahl (RB 80), Chemnitz-Olbernhau-Grünthal (RB 81), and Zwickau-Johanngeorgenstadt (RB 95). Only two locomotives are in service on each of these lines.
