The tax offices in Saxony take an average of 46 days to process tax returns - longer than the national average. This is according to statistics from the Taxpayers' Association (BdSt), which are based on information from the tax offices. The national average is 42.2 days.
The tax offices in Saxony were also among the slower in a comparison of the federal states in 2024. Thuringia was in first place with 39.1 processing days, followed by Saxony-Anhalt with 39.7 days. Saarland brought up the rear with 53.8 processing days. Saxony was in eleventh place in this ranking.
