The ailing Leipzig streetcar manufacturer Heiterblick is in contact with various interested parties. Talks are at an advanced stage, a spokesperson for the company told the German Press Agency. All interested parties intend to ensure the continuation of the company.
"The decisive factor for us is the overall package in order to lead the company into a good and stable future," emphasized the spokesperson. He did not disclose the names of the bidders. The company was officially transferred to insolvency proceedings under self-administration at the beginning of July.
The spokesperson explained that agreements had already been reached with key customers regarding the completion of existing orders. Operational work was largely continuing. "We are in talks with all upstream suppliers and all customers in order to be able to deliver the existing orders as quickly as possible if there is agreement with the customers."
The company had explained its economic difficulties with a combination of several crises: The corona pandemic, disrupted supply chains, increased raw material prices and project delays had recently made the situation much more difficult.
