Consumer goods show elevated levels in test - recall ordered

Because of conspicuous values in a test for consumer goods, RBV Birkmann GmbH & Co. KG from Halle has issued a product recall for three baking tins. This was announced by the portal Lebensmittelwarnung.de on Thursday.

Accordingly, the article "Premium Baking Springform, 20 cm" showed conspicuous values in a routine LFGB test, which checks product properties under extreme conditions. An increased release of lead, aluminum, cobalt, manganese and barium was measured. Goods sold in stores between October 2021 and May 2023 are affected. The article "Laib und Seele Brotform 30 cm" was found to have an increased release of nickel, cobalt, aluminum, lead and lithium in the test. Affected is the product of the batch 23379, which had been offered since July 12, 2022 at the partners in the trade. Currently available batches were not affected.

Affected states were Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein.
