According to the Aircraft Noise Commission (FLK), night-time aircraft noise at Leipzig/Halle Airport was slightly lower than in the same period last year. This was due to fewer aircraft movements in cargo traffic, according to Jörg Puchmüller, the Aircraft Noise Protection Officer (FLSB). However, Leipzig/Halle Airport reported a further increase in passenger numbers with a slight decrease in freight traffic compared to the previous year.
New FLK members
On Wednesday, the members of the Aircraft Noise Commission (FLK) met for their autumn meeting in Schkeuditz. For the first time, representatives from the new member municipalities of Krostitz and Jesewitz, appointed by the Ministry of Transport, also took part.
Puchmüller also presented the measurement data from Delitzsch and Eilenburg, where local authorities and citizens' initiatives had requested corresponding studies. At both locations, the values were below the limits for passive noise protection.
