Passengers on the new S-Bahn trains between Halle and Leipzig will have to adjust to a peculiarity for the time being: Because several platforms in northern Halle are too short for the new, longer Mireo trains, the rear section of the train will remain closed between Halle Central Station and Halle-Trotha.
This means that passengers heading to that destination should board the front section of the train right away—or, if coming from Leipzig, transfer from the rear to the front section no later than Halle Central Station if they wish to continue on to Halle-Trotha. This was confirmed by Länderbahn. The “Mitteldeutsche Zeitung” had previously reported on this.
