Leipzig Grass Fair shows works from all over the world

140 artists and designers from Europe, Asia and Africa will show their work at Leipzig's Grassi Museum this weekend. During the Grassimesse this year will also be awarded for the first time a design prize endowed with 2500 euros, the museum announced on Thursday. The fair will take place from October 20 to 22. In addition to the work of artists and designers, work by students will also be shown.

The Grassimesse is held annually. According to the organizers, it is considered one of the leading international sales fairs for applied art and for design in Europe. Is shown new in the areas of jewelry and accessories, ceramics, porcelain, fashion and textiles, furniture and wood, metal, glass and paper.

In addition to the new design award, seven so-called Grassipreise for outstanding works and concepts are awarded at the fair. The total prize money is reportedly 11,000 euros.
