From today through Wednesday, sections of track around the Görlitz train station will be closed. Passengers on several lines will need to transfer to buses and should expect longer travel times.

Due to extensive construction and maintenance work, Deutsche Bahn will close sections of track around the Görlitz station from Thursday through October 14. Several regional rail lines are affected, according to the railway company.

On the RE1/RB60 line between Zgorzelec/Görlitz and Dresden, a bus replacement service will be provided between Görlitz and Reichenbach. For the RB65, buses will run between Horka and Görlitz as well as between Görlitz and Zittau. On the RB64 route, a replacement bus service will operate between Niesky and Görlitz. Passengers should therefore expect longer travel times. The pedestrian tunnel at the station will also be closed during the closure.

The construction work includes, among other things, maintenance and modernization work, as well as the electrification of the line toward Poland. According to Deutsche Bahn, the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
