Police operation and evacuation: The S-Bahn heading toward Meißen is brought to a halt—but in the end, everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.

Suspicions that a passenger was carrying a firearm on the S1 train heading toward Meissen led to a police operation at the Pirna train station. However, a spokesperson for the Federal Police stated that there was no threat during the incident on Thursday afternoon. The news portal “Tag24” had previously reported on the incident.

A passenger reported the suspicious weapon—which a 58-year-old man had visibly tucked into his clothing—to the train conductor. An emergency call was subsequently made. The police evacuated the Pirna train station and the S1 train. According to reports, the heavily intoxicated 58-year-old cooperated with authorities. It turned out that he was carrying an airsoft gun. As things stand, the investigation will focus at most on the charge of carrying an imitation weapon, officials said. The S-Bahn was able to resume service after a few minutes.
