A 76-year-old woman crashed her car near Boxberg under the influence of alcohol and was slightly injured. As the police department Görlitz announced on Saturday, the senior citizen was driving a small car on the road between Kaschel and Zimpel the day before, when she suddenly left the road. The car ran over a boundary post, damaged a telecommunications pole, overturned and remained on its roof. Rescue workers freed the pensioner from her vehicle. A test showed that the woman had a blood alcohol level of 1.66 per mill. She went to the hospital and must now answer for endangering the road traffic. Copyright 2023, dpa (www.dpa.de).
