Signal boxes are needed to control train traffic. A defect is causing disruption to regional services on a connection from southern Brandenburg to Saxony.

Regional rail travelers can expect disruptions on the line between Doberlug-Kirchhain in southern Brandenburg and Leipzig this weekend. The reason is a technical defect in a signal box on the section of line between Torgau (Saxony) and Uebigau (Elbe-Elster district), according to Deutsche Bahn. Railroad operations are controlled via signal boxes.

Trains on the RE 10 line will not be able to stop at certain stations until Sunday morning, a spokesperson said. A rail replacement service with buses has been set up between Torgau and Doberlug-Kirchhain. Travelers should keep themselves informed about their connections, the railroad said.
