The chip supplier Siltronic, which has a plant in Freiberg, Saxony, is canceling the dividend for its shareholders due to a loss last year. This was announced by the Munich-based company when it presented detailed business figures for the past year. For 2024, the company had still distributed 20 cents per share as a direct profit share.
According to the figures, turnover fell by just under 4.7 percent to around 1.35 billion euros last year. At around 317 million euros, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were around 13 percent below the previous year.
The company reported on Thursday that the bottom line was in the red. Among other things, continued price pressure and unfavorable US dollar exchange rates had a negative impact. The investment volume in the current year will fall to a maximum of 220 million euros, the company added. Last year, Siltronic AG, which is listed on the SDax index of small companies, invested around 370 million euros.
The company says it employs 880 people at its Freiberg plant.
