A 64-year-old female driver has died in a collision between a car and a bus on a country road in the district of North Saxony. According to the police, she drove her vehicle into oncoming traffic in Doberschütz on Thursday afternoon for an as yet unexplained reason and crashed into an oncoming bus.
The woman died at the scene of the accident. The bus driver and a child traveling on the bus suffered minor injuries. The bus was reportedly carrying other children, but was not full.
State road 11 was still closed in both directions in the evening for clearing work. The accident service of the Leipzig police department is investigating the cause.
