The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) will decide in mid-November how much money a car owner has to pay for the safekeeping of a privately towed vehicle. In the specific case, the towing company is demanding 4935 euros because it had the car on its premises for almost a year. The Higher Regional Court (OLG) Dresden had awarded the company but only 75 euros, because the owner after a few days demanded the surrender.

The presiding judge of the fifth civil senate said on Friday in Karlsruhe, it could speak a lot for the view of the OLG. Their decision want to announce the judges however only after exact examination on 17 November. (Az. V ZR 192/22)
