A bag containing a lot of cash is left behind on the train from Hanover to Munich. Thanks to an honest finder from Leipzig, it now finds its way back to its owner.

One day after 15,000 euros were found on a train, the owner of the money has now come forward. According to the federal police, the 34-year-old from Schleswig-Holstein had already filed a complaint in Hamburg on Sunday because she assumed that her wallet containing the cash had been stolen.

However, she was lucky: an honest finder - a 33-year-old woman from Leipzig, according to the police - discovered the bag containing 15,000 euros on the ICE train from Hanover to Munich on Sunday and informed the federal police. After the unusual find was reported across Germany on Monday, the owner contacted the Federal Police.

She gave a detailed description of the purse - a pink breast pouch with princesses - and was identified as the owner. The cash, which she had intended to use to buy a car, will now be handed over to her. The honest finder is to receive a finder's reward, it said.
