Glitter, passion and maximum excitement: 30 dance couples from 14 countries will be competing in Leipzig for the World Championship title in Latin American dance. Among them is the successful German team Balan/Moshenska.

The world champions in Latin American dance will be determined in Leipzig. The world's best dance couples have been meeting since Saturday lunchtime as part of the international dance sport festival at the Neue Messe. According to the organizers, 30 professional dance couples from 14 nations will be competing. They will be competing in Samba, Cha Cha Cha and Rumba, among others.

The reigning world champions and gold medal winners of this year's World Games, Marius-Andrei Balan and Kristina Moshenska, will also be taking part. They have already won the title four times and are one of the most successful German dance couples.

Around 200 helpers will be on hand, according to the organizers. The winners are expected to be announced shortly before midnight. This is already the 15th World Dance Championships in Leipzig.
