The Saxon Library Prize, endowed with 10,000 euros, is to be awarded this year for projects on teaching artificial intelligence. "With this prize, we want to support the implementation of particularly innovative project ideas that can subsequently be applied to other libraries," emphasized Minister of Culture Barbara Klepsch (CDU).
"With great commitment, public and academic libraries in the Free State of Saxony create a wide range of offers and further develop library services on a daily basis," emphasized the Minister. More and more libraries are exploring possible applications, particularly in the rapidly developing field of AI technology.
The prize is being awarded for the 13th time this year. All Saxon libraries, regardless of their sector or size, are invited to apply by September 10. The winner will be announced on October 24. The award will be decided by the board of the Saxony Library Association and the State Library Department.
