20 Saxon authors will be going on a reading tour through 65 libraries in the state over the coming weeks as part of the 13th Literature Forum. The programme includes a wide variety of new publications: from poetry and novels to satire and regional crime novels to essays and picture stories.
According to the organizers, Burkhard Müller will be reading from his book "Die Elbe. Portrait of a River". In Crimmitschau (12.11.) and Auerbach (14.11.), Leipzig-based author Katharina Bendixen will talk about modern family life with "Eine zeitgemäße Form der Liebe". Visitors can travel back in time with Christine Koschmieder and her novel "Spring Collection" in Weinböhla (10.11.), Löbau, Neustadt in Sachsen (both 11.11.) and Markranstädt (14.11.).
Networking literature and libraries
The aim of the project is to bring literature to all regions of Saxony and to promote direct exchange between writers and readers. The Literature Forum connects Saxony's diverse literary scene with the state's strong library network, said Bettina Baltschev, Managing Director of the Saxon Literature Council, in a press release.
The Literature Forum Library is a joint project of the Saxony Library Association and the Literature Council, funded by the Saxon Ministry of Culture with 60,000 euros this year.
