The French-Colombian film "La Perra" has won the prize for best animated film in the international competition at the Dresden Film Festival. "Torn between violence and tenderness, with a very precise sense of rhythm, this beautiful, hand-drawn film shows a profound and organic vision of interpersonal relationships", the jury said in its statement. The Golden Horseman for the best short film went to the South American production "Alien0089", which reportedly deals with the world of immersive video games. Both prizes are endowed with 7500 euros each.

The film festival entered its 36th edition this year. At the end, 16 prizes worth 72,000 euros were awarded, according to a spokesperson. Eight juries and the audience chose their favorites from 60 short films in three competitions. The Saxon Film Prize, endowed with 20,000 euros, was awarded to the Iranian-born director Narges Kalhor. According to the jury, her film "Sensitive Content" impressively denounces patriarchal structures and shows the fearless struggle of women in Iran.
