The Dresden Film Nights on the banks of the Elbe will once again take place on familiar terrain this summer. Construction has already begun above the steps on the Königsufer, not far from the partially collapsed Carola Bridge, according to a spokeswoman for the organizers. The cinema and concert program will be announced next Tuesday. The well-known "Kaisermania" is already set - and has long been sold out.
After the partial collapse of one of the three bridge strands on 11 September 2024, the organizers had feared for the popular cultural event on the riverbank and in front of the famous baroque backdrop of the old town. In addition to film screenings, it also offers concerts in the summer months. Every year, pop singer Roland Kaiser celebrates "Kaisermania" on several evenings, also with hundreds of fence guests on the Elbe meadows - but no longer on the Carola Bridge.
