Poetry slams have a large fan base as modern poetry competitions. Now the scene is choosing its German-speaking champions. Who will manage to win over the audience with their lyrics?

The German-language poetry slam championship enters the final on Saturday (20:00). Since Wednesday, participants from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Italy have been putting their skills to the test in Chemnitz. Of the 80 starters, 9 will make it to the individual final.

In the poetry slam, authors present texts they have written themselves on stage and are judged by the audience. The German-language championship is being held for the 29th time. Previous finalists include well-known names such as Hazel Brugger, Marc-Uwe Kling, Moritz Neumeier and André Herrmann. The prize is not endowed.
