Every year in October, the Lachmesse Leipzig becomes a meeting place for the satire scene. This year, more than 100 artists are taking part in the festival.

This year's Lachmesse Leipzig brings several generations of the cabaret, comedy and cabaret scene to the stage. In addition to old masters such as Franz Hohler and Bernd-Lutz Lange, stars of the moment such as Michael Krebs and Lisa Eckhart are also expected to attend the satire festival.

According to the organizers, a total of 131 artists from ten countries will be in Leipzig from 19 to 26 October. 76 events are on the program. This is the 35th edition of the Lachmesse.

Award ceremony on the opening evening

The satire festival will open with an award ceremony on the first evening: the Leipziger Löwenzahn, an award for the best program from the previous year, will be presented. It goes to the duo OHNE ROLF from Switzerland.

Author Dietmar Wischmeyer will be taking part in a Lachmesse special this year. Under the motto "Vergeigt, verkackt, versemmelt", he takes a look at the present, which, according to the program announcement, now seems all too opaque to him between veganism and Dry January.
