The banks of the Elbe in Dresden will once again become a Mecca for tens of thousands of fans of pop singer Roland Kaiser. The 21st "Kaisermania" will once again feature a total of four concerts - kicking off tonight (20:00). According to the organizers, the shows in front of the Old Town backdrop are sold out with almost 50,000 visitors.
Many more onlookers are also expected on the adjacent Elbe meadows. For the first time, however, there will no longer be a popular place for Kaiser fans without tickets: the Carola Bridge. Many spectators had always stood on it.
The 73-year-old singer has had a close relationship with Dresden for many years. His concerts at the Filmnächte am Elbufer are a cult event for many people, with tickets always selling out within a short space of time. Fans travel from Germany and abroad to attend.
Kaiser is known for songs such as "Santa Maria", "Sieben Fässer Wein" and "Warum hast du nicht nein gesagt". The concerts in Dresden will feature a selection of his greatest hits, fan favorites and new songs, it was announced. The concert on August 9 will be broadcast live on MDR television.
