The Count fell headfirst from the stage at the first concert of Unheilig's "Wieder zurück" tour in Leipzig. The band had barely played a quarter of an hour in the packed Haus Auensee when the singer lost his balance and fell forward and down. The concert was then interrupted for five minutes before the musician returned to the fans with the words: "Old Swede, ey". "I'm very sorry for this scare, but together we'll get through it."
Almost ten years have passed since Unheilig played what was supposed to be their last concert - but now the Aachen band led by the Count is back. It will be an emotional evening for the musicians and the audience in Leipzig.
Emotional return to the stage
"I missed you", exclaimed the Unheilig singer, slapping his hands over his face. The band played a farewell concert in Cologne in 2016. But at the beginning of this year, the Count surprisingly announced that the band would be producing a new album. "Liebe Glaube Monster" is due to be released on March 13 next year.
The Unheilig frontman is only known as "der Graf" and does not reveal his real name or age. What he has let fans know, however, is the reason why he once said goodbye - quite definitively, actually. He wanted to spend more time with his family. And that's what he did, he said after announcing his comeback. But at some point, the desire to be on stage returned.
Arena tour in fall 2026
At the concert, the Count told us how important his mother was to him. She always fought like a lion, for example when he had big problems at school as a boy because he stuttered. Now his mother has grown old, but is still fighting. He dedicates the song "Mein Löwe" to her.
The fans of Unheilig celebrate the band on this comeback evening. The Count recovers quickly from the fall, even though he has been told that he will later visit a clinic in Leipzig, as he says. You don't notice anything wrong with him in the following songs. If you want to see more of the Düster musicians, you can look forward to a big arena tour starting next fall.
