The MDR Broadcasting Council has cleared the way for the continuation of "Tatort" from Dresden. Filming is to begin after the summer and the new episode will be broadcast next year, MDR announced. The working title is "That which you leave behind". It centers on the murder of a cab driver, which leads investigators Winkler (Cornelia Gröschel) and Schnabel (Martin Brambach) deep into family tragedies and repressed truths.
The "Tatort" from Dresden reaches 8 to 10 million viewers nationwide on television and is streamed more than a million times per episode in the ARD media library, explained Broadcasting Council Chairman Michael Ziche. "Productions like this strengthen regional identity and added value, because a large part of the workforce is made up of people from Central Germany."
