From Tuesday, the A13 in the direction of Berlin will be a single lane - commuters and travelers must expect delays. This is due to construction work on crash barriers and concrete elements.

Travelers and commuters can expect traffic restrictions on the A13 towards Berlin from Tuesday. The reason for this is the renewal of the crash barriers and concrete elements on a total of three and a half kilometers in the area of the central reservation, according to the federal freeway company Autobahn GmbH. Traffic in the direction of Berlin will be restricted to one lane during the construction work.

The construction work will then switch to the opposite side in the direction of Dresden, so that traffic can only flow in one lane there. The construction work is expected to last until mid-December.

According to the highway operator, the crash barriers and concrete elements in the affected area are damaged and need to be replaced. For this reason, temporary safety barriers were installed back in September. In addition, a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour currently applies in the area.

At the same time, the signage in the construction section will also be renewed, it was added. The total costs amount to 1.2 million euros.
